Introduction to the 57 Chevy!

Is there anyone old enough to drive that doesn't recognize a 57 Chevy? Especially the Bel Air Convertible, the Sport Coupe, and Nomad station wagon are some of the most popular collector cars on the road.

Chevrolet and Ford were duking it out for top honors in the sales numbers in 1957. They both won, or was that lose, it's kind of a mixed bag.? Chevy won for the calendar year and Ford got the nod for the model as far as the number of new vehicles built. Both companies won by building over 1,500,000 cars in their respective winning category.

Now 50+ years later, it's pretty hard to argue that the 57 Chevy is anything but the big winner among car collectors. You can see one of these at almost any general or Chevy or GM oriented classic car show.

Fins were coming into their own in 1957 and those on the Chevy have become icons of the era.
